California College Guidance Initiative
Overview of CCGI
Through CaliforniaColleges.edu, the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) provides students with in-depth, grade-appropriate information and data-driven tools to support college, career, and financial aid planning and applications. CCGI endeavors to smooth the path to college for California students by addressing disconnects in the educational pipeline. CCGI works with individual K-12 districts and higher education institutions to close the gaps between systems and ensure that all California students, especially those who have been underrepresented in higher education, can move seamlessly from K-12 to college and career.
Partnering with CCGI
A partnership with CCGI brings together the best of both worlds: a statewide systems with local implementation.
A statewide infrastructure gives CCGI the ability to help validate coursework and identify errors in “a-g” courses that can affect students’ California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) eligibility. By working hand-in-hand with districts, CCGI can identify the specific data needs and challenges of district partners and help them create ongoing and sustainable improvement.
The benefits of partnership include:
- Data Cleanup and Capacity Building
- Data-Driven Tools
- Application Integrations
- Comprehensive Reporting
- Implementation Support
