Pathway Alignment

Business

Aspects of the business sector are embedded in every other industry. The K-16 Collaborative Grant is focused on supporting accounting, business administration, business management, finance, logistics, marketing, project management, sales, among others. How can we streamline the programs to better serve the thousands of students who move through these programs?

As part of our grant requirements, we created a Business Student Journey Map, focused on a North County San Diego Business Administration pathway example. Click on the image to view or download.

Computing

Computing (or ICT as it is know at the K-12 level) is one of the fastest growing industry sectors in the world. Consequently, there are a wide variety of opportunities for students who enter this ever-evolving sector. How can we better prepare our students to enter this field at multiple entry points?

Education

Our focus is on K-12 education pathways. What we have founds is that there are a limited number of programs within San Diego and Imperial counties that have programs to serve students interested in becoming a K-12 educator. And yet there is a major teacher shortage! How can we strengthen this pathway and provide opportunities for students to engage through all segments?

As part of our grant requirements, we created an Education Student Journey Map, focused on a North County San Diego Elementary Teacher pathway example. Click on the image to view or download.

Engineering

Most high schools use Project Lead the Way (PLTW). Most community colleges have pre-engineering transfer programs, and two of our three public universities are impacted. How can we address these issues and expand opportunities, better prepare our students, and meet industry needs?

As part of our grant requirements, we created an Engineering Student Journey Map, focused on an East County San Diego Computer Engineering pathway example. Click on the image to view or download.

Healthcare

Since healthcare is such a vast industry, we have developed a K-16 Healthcare Resource Guide to support students, parents, counselors, and educators in our region. View the guide Your Future in Healthcare: From Student to Career
