Program Highlights
Earn $20/hour for up to 240 hours of in-person work experience;
200 hours at a K-12 school site;
40 hours of training, onboarding, and ongoing support;
Training & onboarding in January 2025; Work with students during the Spring 2025 semester;
Opportunities available at elementary, middle and high school sites across San Diego and Imperial counties;
Launch your career in teaching and make valuable connections with K-12 educators!
Do you quality?
Be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.
Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at a public community college or university in San Diego or Imperial county;
- Have completed two semesters or three quarters of undergraduate / post-secondary education;
Complete the work experience application;
Provide an introductory video (2 minutes) or written statement (200 – 300 words);
Tell us about yourself and why you are interested in a career in education.

Unofficial transcript(s)
Supplementary materials (if requested).

Our team is working with your college’s Career Center to ensure they understand the paid work experience program and can support you. We strongly encourage you to visit them to:
- Create or update your resume
- Practice your interviewing skills
Your college also has many support services for current students, such as:
- Transportation support (ex: bus passes)
- Career closet (professional clothes at low or no cost)
