Work Experiences in K-12 Education
NEXT COHORT – Spring 2026!
Do You Qualify?
- Be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at a public community college or university in San Diego or Imperial county;
- Have completed two semesters or three quarters of undergraduate / post-secondary education.
Program Highlights
- Earn $20/hour for up to 240 hours of in-person work experience;
- 200 hours at a K-12 school site;
- 40 hours of training, onboarding, and ongoing support;
- Training & onboarding in January 2026; Work with students during the Spring 2026 semester;
- Opportunities available at elementary, middle and high school sites across San Diego and Imperial counties;
- Launch your career in teaching and make valuable connections with K-12 educators!

Our team is working with your college’s Career Center to ensure they understand the paid work experience program and can support you. We strongly encourage you to visit them to:

- Practice your interviewing skills
Your college also has many support services for current students, such as:
- Transportation support (ex: bus passes)
- Career closet (professional clothes at low or no cost)
